Plex just dropped a pricing bomb: starting July 1, 2026, a new lifetime pass will jump from $249.99 to a jaw-dropping $749.99. Existing lifetime members get to keep their perks, and Plex says the money will help it keep improving the app with things like better downloads, easier playlist editing, restored music and photo features, and sound upgrades. But in the comments, that careful corporate language got absolutely steamrolled by sticker shock.
