The test offers 100 questions and promises a scientific estimate of your word power, but the real entertainment was watching people react like they’d just gotten exam results on live television. One proud player cheerfully reported a score of 71,000, while another swerved in the opposite direction with the gloriously blunt take that they know “maybe 20-30” and only care about using language to understand things, not to show off. Ouch.

Then came the hot takes. One commenter declared it was “hilarious” that so many words were French, which instantly gives the whole quiz a side plot: is this an English test, or a surprise lesson in linguistic borrowing?
