Docker has rolled out Sandboxes, a disposable, isolated space where AI coding helpers like Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Copilot CLI, Codex, OpenCode, and Kiro can run without touching your main computer. In plain English: it’s meant to be a safe little room for bots to do their thing unattended. Sounds sensible, right? Well, the comment section instantly turned this product launch into a mini food fight.

The loudest backlash was over one very human problem: having to log in. That detail completely hijacked the vibe. One commenter flatly declared, “Requires login. Garbage.” Another went even harder, basically asking why anyone should need an account just to use what feels like a local tool on their own machine. For that crowd, Docker’s safety pitch sounded less like protection and more like corporate “buzzword reasoning.” Ouch.
